My Work
I am Principal Professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) at Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Also, I am director of the Research Program in Teaching and Learning Technologies at the Information Technology Center of ESPOL.
I am Editor-in-Chief of the Revista Tecnológica, a multidisciplinary journal published by ESPOL.
My Research
My current research interests are:
- Informetrics: Measuring the production and consumption of information
- Learnometrics: Metrics for learning technologies
- Measurment of the user-generated Web
- Science 2.0
My Academic Networks
Currently I am coordinating the Latin American Community on Learning Objects (LACLO) and organizing the LACLO Conference.
I am co-President of the Ariadne Foundation. Also coordinating the Center for Development and Support at Guayaquil.
I represent LACLO at the Global Learning Objects Brokered Exchange (GLOBE) consortium.
I was part of the Hypermedia and and Databases Group of the Computer Science Department of the Catholic University of Leuven, under the supervision of Prof. Erik Duval.
